Didn't our parents yell at us for jumping on the sofa?

Mmmm...Cupcakes!

The best time to give a 1 year old cupcakes is just before bathtime! However, sometimes I feel like I can skip the cupcake and just buy the frosting and sprinkles;) That is the only part they eat.

Happy Valentines Day!

After a very busy morning filled with swim lessons, gymnastics, and hair appointments we figured the best way to end the afternoon was a trip to urgent care. Keira was showing signs of a sinus infection and Mom figured we better get it checked out. It was great. Nobody goes to urgent care on Valentines Day. We were the only people and got in and out within the hour. So, Mom got it in her head we could go out for dinner.

Baker's Square was just across the street and a good piece of pie would be a nice way to celebrate Valentines Day. Right?? We were seated right away and got the girls coloring. Unfortunately, it was a really long wait for a server to show up. By the time he arrived, Keira was starting to meltdown. We ordered our drinks and food and were all set. Until the drinks arrived. Keira wanted to throw her milk at the table next to us. Tim had a look on his face like he has given up all hope. His soul was gone. So, Mom grabbed Keira and took her outside. After she calmed down Keira was brought back in for round two. Once again, she grabbed her milk and wanted to dump it all over. No kids cup in the world was going to prevent this from happening. This time Dad annonces he is taking her to the store and just get his food to-go. As he was getting her coat Keira drops to the ground kicking and screaming because we took the milk away. Tim picked her up and away they went leaving Caeli and Mom to wait for dinner.

The quiet didn't last long because all 3 tables surrounding us wanted to talk to Mom about what just happened. One table thought Keira was diabetic and needed food. The second table thought they were adorable and fun to watch. The third table just commented on how hard it was to celebrate Valentines Day with little children. Mom just told them Keira is a spirited 20 month old and turned away.

Finally the food arrives! Mom asks for 4 to-go boxes and the bill right away and starts cutting Caeli's chocolate chip pancakes. Caeli at this time refuses to eat the pancakes. I am still not sure why. So, Mom packs up the 4 meals and goes to pay while calling Tim to pick us up. Tim, who was across the street was unable to get to us because traffic was so bad. So, now Mom and Caeli sat at the front of the restaurant saying good bye to all the people leaving. Everyone knew exactly who we were.

Dad finally can pick us up. We are free at last. Keira eats her dinner in the car while Caeli crys the whole way home. When we get home Caeli eats her yogurt and Tim gets to finally eat his meal.

Disney on Ice!

Caeli and I joined some friends to see Disney on Ice. Caeli was excited to go, very happy to get her popcorn, and loved trying to figure out how to stop the chair from folding in on her. However, the show freaked her out. After 90 minutes of Caeli covering her eyes, ears, and saying, 'we gotta get out of here!' the lights came on and the show was FINALLY over. Caeli then tells me she loved it and wants to come back again tomorrow! Ahh.... I don't think so!

The Zoo...

The zoo is a great place to hang out in these cold winters. The buildings are nice and warm and the walk between them is very short! Keira really enjoys the aviary. You get right up close to all the birds and I think the birds are happy to see us. At least our favorite rhinoceros hornbill always puts on a show. (I sure hope I got that breed right;) He is very big and very entertaining. Sometimes too entertaining for Caeli.
